Rainbow Art Camp

projects

Each day will play, have free choice art time, snack, clean up as well as time for students to reflect on our time together. Our day will be structured around our “center piece” project. We envision the “center piece” project to be a more robust project with historic, artistic or scientific lesson at its core. Some of the “center piece” projects we are planning are- ice dye tshirts (and items from home!), beaded picture holder, and the artist Alma Woodsey Thomas.

About your teachers

Hi there! My name is Alice and I specialize in offering creative experiences that inspire play and self-empowerment. I love how the process of making art and creating has the ability to heal and transform both the maker and the viewer. I have been living in Sonoma for 10 years! Growing up in Southern Calif. my first summer camp jobs were teaching art over 20 years ago. I still love teaching art and creativity to kids and adults of all ages. I am a mom to a 5 year old kiddo, a Labrador named Curry, 6 chickens, and 2 cats. Some of my favorite things are going on family adventures, walking our dog Curry, being at the waters edge, shopping second hand, working in my art journal and experimenting with seasonal ingredients in the kitchen. I have a longer bio here.

Hello there! My name is Emily and I am a sonoma local born and raised! I have over 9 years of professional childcare experience as well as childhood development education background. I am passionate about teaching children and allowing them to express themselves in their own unique ways. I believe each and every form of art is very valuable, and can be an amazing outlet for children. I love to see kids in action, having fun and discovering things about themselves. Aside from working with kids, I enjoy cooking and baking, hiking with my dog, doing pilates, and thrifting!
