Alice Pennes is a fine artist and teaching artist. She specializes in art education that inspires creative play and self-empowerment. Alice has been teaching art for over fifteen years. Through the process of teaching and making art Alice saw how creating has the ability to heal and transform the maker and the viewer. With this idea in mind she went back to school and earned a master’s degree in Integrative Health from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). At CIIS Alice focused on the healing power of creative expression and the connection between art and wellness.

 Alice brings a diverse portfolio of work and teaching experience to create a wide range of student experiences. She has experience in fiber arts such as fabric dying and resists, as well as acrylic and watercolor painting, mixed media painting, collage, book making, printmaking, and drawing.

Alice works with organizations and individuals to develop art programs specific to the needs organization and students.  Each project is designed to encourage the students of every ability level to access their artistic potential by through creative exploration and self-expression.  In addition to teaching and creating art Alice has developed skills in curating art exhibits and displaying student works.
